I'm a "Prisoner" to this CD!!!
Do yourself a HUGE favor and buy this CD. I'm not kidding. This is such a stellar CD. It didn't just knock my socks off, it's evicted them out of my house, lol. All 12 tracks are scrumptious!!! This is a MUST OWN.

Pre-order arrived and DUST BOWL is incredible!!
More than worth the wait!! The songs are what you come to expect from Joe and company.. perfectly chosen and over the top. Joe plays with more emotion than ever, and just notches up everything we have heard from him over the years. While I am not a major country fan, the country flavored songs are becoming my favorites! Tennessee Plates is a rocker that has a unique feel. I think it is a really clever song that sets you up for the track after it as well. The Meaning of The Blues will be a favorite to those who like Slow Gin and Happier Times (two of my favorites, so this one blows me away!). I could go on and on with my first, second, third and fourth impressions of all the songs, but I will just say that it is ALL GOOD! This CD will spend many hours in my players! I think my favorite (at least today!) is Prisoner.. As I mentioned in another review, I was excited to know that it was going to be on DUST BOWL, but it is even more passionate than I had imagined it would be. Joe's vocals on this (and all the other) track is amazing! And it goes without saying that the guitars are over the top! Don't know how he keeps up such a schedule, and still recorded such a brilliant album, but way to go Joe!!! THANK YOU!!!!!

It's Killing me!! (the wait)
I keep checking back here for anymore info, and I keep looking at song #12 PRISONER.... I think it is awesome that that song was chosen for this album.. Who would have thought that Joe would record a Barbara Streisand song?? I have been a major fan of that song since I heard it years and years ago, always hoping someone would give it the edge! Who more perfect than Joe?? I have a feeling that this song will be my next Joe favorite.. KUDOS TO WHOEVER DECIDED THAT THIS SHOULD GO ON DUSTBOWL!!! Is it in the mailbox yet???

Dust Bowl & Slow Train
Just heard both these songs last night in Kansas City and The Old Joe really comes out in Dust bowl and he nails any song with Train in the title.
He sold 2,000 tickets to this show and coments, as he always does when he is in KC, that it wasn't that long ago that he played the Grand Emporium here for just the owner and a few others.
Hell of a show Joe! Loved the new as well as the old stuff.

Dust Bowl - coming soon, BUT!!!
I am anxiously waiting for the full album release of DUST BOWL, and March 22nd can't come soon enough!! I have my copy pre-ordered and will be watching the mailbox like a hawk that week!
But, I would like to review what I already know...
Joe has been gracious enough to GIVE us the title track and after listening to it at least two dozen times (I would listen more, but I DO have a life) I find it to be one of my favorites along side JOHN HENRY, STOP, HAPPIER TIMES and on and on... YouTube also has a clip of SLOW TRAIN from one of the band's live shows, and it is also a killer song!
I am a 57 year old who has been overwhelmed by music all my life, and Joe is (in my mind) the future of guitarists.. the music world needed this guy and his passion, along with what seems to be a sincere soul.. And the best part is that he is just scratching the surface of what is to come!
Wish I had time to write more, but I want to check the mail box just in case someone slipped up and shipped DUST BOWL early!!
Neal Williams (and I am seeing him live for the first time March 27th in the Burgh!)
